Jesus Replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40

Here at “The Praise Center”, we believe that along with Worship, Bible study and relationships with others, the best way to grow in our relationship with God is by getting involved in serving Him.

James 1:22-24 tells us “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like a man, who looks at his face in a mirror and , after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.”

James knew we would find things other than Jesus to consume our lives.  The book of James was written for people like you and me. People tend to be casual in their walk with God.  We tend to become too casual in prayer, casual with our families, casual with our money, casual with the study of God’s word and too casual in our relationship with God Himself.

At the Praise Center, we want to get up and get out.  We encourage everyone to get “Engaged” with some ministry somewhere, doing something that they are uniquely created, qualified and gifted to do.

James goes on to say in verse 2:14, “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?  Can such faith save him?”

We truly believe that when we reach outside ourselves for the cause of Christ, that much good can come from it…we please God.  We show the love of Jesus practically to the world and we ourselves grow closer in our relationship with our heavenly Father.
